Andrew Weichel
ContactAndrew Weichel is a reporter and the supervising digital producer for CTV News Vancouver.
Since joining the newsroom in 2009, Andrew has led gripping online coverage of several municipal, provincial and federal elections, as well as a number of landmark Supreme Court decisions.
His work reporting on the COVID-19 pandemic was recognized with a Jack Webster Award in 2020, and he received an Edward R. Murrow Award in 2023 for a story scrutinizing the Vancouver Police Department's selective dissemination of stranger assault data leading up to the 2022 election.
Andrew was born and raised in British Columbia, growing up in the Okanagan before moving to Vancouver, where he studied journalism at Langara College.
In 2019, he published his first book, "Everything British Columbia," with his wife, Bethany Lindsay.
