Andrew Weichel joined CTV Vancouver as an online reporter and editor in June 2009.
He’s covered municipal, provincial and federal elections as well as numerous local and national Supreme Court decisions, including landmark cases on the Insite supervised injection facility and physician-assisted suicide.
He also reported on the month-long Occupy Vancouver demonstration, the riots that erupted at the 2010 Winter Olympics and 2011 Stanley Cup playoffs, and B.C.’s historic harmonized sales tax referendum. His contributions helped CTV earn a coveted Edward R. Murrow Award for Best News Website in 2010.
The B.C. native grew up in the Southern Okanagan before attending the University of British Columbia and earning a journalism diploma from Langara College.
