Environment Canada is investigating after a red sludge poured from a pipe onto a White Rock beach on Apr. 22, 2013. (CTV)
Sea water at a White Rock beach was coloured red on Monday from a bright sludge flowing into the ocean.
Beach-goers noticed the red sludge pouring out of a pipe and straight into the ocean at the city’s West Beach on April 22.
According to White Rock Mayor Wayne Baldwin, the red sludge was likely caused by an algae bloom and Environment Canada will be investigating.
