CTV British Columbia's coverage of the 2011 Stanley Cup Riot has been honoured with another prestigious journalism award. The British Columbia Association of Broadcasters has chosen CTV for its Excellence in News Reporting award.

The BCAB made the announcement Friday evening at Vancouver's Hyatt Regency hotel; CTV News at Six anchors Mike Killeen and Tamara Taggart accepted the award on behalf of the newsroom.

Taggart and Killeen were at the anchor desk when the riot broke out on June 15, 2011. CTV was the only television station in Vancouver to stay on the air with continuous coverage of the riot until midnight, when police finally got the situation under control.

CTV's coverage of the riot has already been honoured with this year's Edward R. Murrow Award for Breaking News and Overall Excellence. This is the second BCAB award in a row for CTV British Columbia, having won the prize last year for its news coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
