The snowfall had many motorists anxious to get winter tires on their vehicles, but unless you made an appointment last week, you are likely out of luck.

Tire shops around the city were booked solid. OK Tire, Kal Tire, Canadian Tire and Fountain Tire were not taking any appointments today – and some shops are booked solid for the next two weeks.

A couple of weeks ago, McLaughlin on Your side did a tire test on winter tires and since that story aired a lot of people have contacted CTV News asking about the difference between a winter tire and an all season tire.

A good way to tell if you have winter tires, is to look for a snowflake symbol on the tire. That means the tire will perform best on snow and ice.
