Two young Metro Vancouver men have been charged with having sexual contact with underage girls, and Mounties believe there are more alleged victims who haven’t come forward.
Surrey RCMP said members of its Special Victims Unit started investigating allegations that two adults were having sex with young teenagers last August, and the probe has resulted in charges against two men.
Burnaby resident Shahin Bouziane, 20, and Surrey resident Brodie Clements, 23, are both charged with one count of sexual interference. The charge is defined in the Criminal Code as touching someone under the age of 16, with a body part or object, for a sexual purpose.
Mounties are concerned there’s more to the case, however, and released photos of Bouziane and Clements Wednesday in the hopes of furthering their ongoing investigation.
“Investigators have a suspicion or belief that there may be more [alleged] victims with similar circumstances with these accused,” Cpl. SCotty Schumann told CTV News.
“If a member of the public or potential victim becomes aware of the matters against these two it may encourage them to come forward with their own stories.”
Both of the accused have been released from custody under strict conditions.
Bouziane is barred from having contact with anyone under the age of 16 except in the company of the child’s parents or guardian, prohibited from drinking alcohol, and ordered to be at home between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. except with permission from a bail supervisor.
Clements has been ordered to stay away from parks or pools where people under the age of 16 could be found, avoid being in a position of trust or authority toward anyone under 16, and not contact anyone under 16 except in the company of the child’s parent or guardian.
He also has a curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., except with permission from a bail supervisor.
