Vancouver police have issued a public warning after a woman was sexually assaulted along the seawall in Yaletown Tuesday.

The victim was walking her dog south of the 700-block of Pacific Boulevard shortly after 5 p.m. in the evening, when she said a man came up behind her, reached under her skirt, and grabbed her buttocks.

He then ran away to the east, towards the Plaza of Nations.

The victim described her attacker as white, between the edges of 20 and 25, and of a slight to medium build. She said he had short, messy blond hair, acne scars, and bright blue eyes.

He was wearing a black, faded hoodie-style jacket and baggy blue jeans with tattered cuffs. The victim estimated that he was about five feet, seven inches tall.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call the Vancouver police sex crimes unit at 604-717-2634.
