RCMP in Kamloops, B.C., now say they are investigating a possible double homicide after the discovery of two bodies in a shallow grave on a rural property outside the city.

The bodies were found Wednesday night, just less than a day after police began a grid search on a property in the resort town of Knouff Lake, near the popular Sun Peaks resort.

The 24 acre property had recently been sold.

Police executed the search warrant on Finlay Road property in connection with the disappearance of two men in April -- one of whom has gang connections.

Roommates Damien Marks, 31, and 24-year-old Kenneth Yaretz vanished without a trace on April 17 while in the middle of moving to a four-plex house in Brocklehurst. Yaretz is believed to have ties to the Independent Soldiers criminal gang.

Homicide investigators say the bodies found Wednesday have not been identified as the missing men.

One man has been arrested in connection with the property search, but Cst. Cheryl Bush says the charges against him are unrelated to the homicide investigation.
