Two brothers, ages 16 and 19, are dead after a car crash in Richmond on Saturday morning.

RCMP Sgt. Cam Kowalski said the two brothers, who died on scene, were passengers in a BMW that lost control and crashed into a tree. The incident happened around 3 a.m. on No. 4 Road just south of Steveston Highway in Richmond.

The 20-year-old driver suffered minor injuries, and has been released from the hospital, Sgt. Kowalski said. He also said that alcohol and speed may have contributed to the fatal crash.

The victims' names have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
