VANCOUVER - I get asked a lot about when I'm coming back to work. The plan is to come back on February 2nd.  CTV is the official broadcaster of the 2010 Winter Olympics so there's a lot to do -- 2009 will be a busy year. I'm really looking forward to coming back, not looking forward to leaving my two babies at home. That's the hard part. I could stay home and stare at Beckett and Zo all day! So I'm back in less than two months and my "to do" list is getting bigger.

The search is on for a part-time nanny and that is not an easy task, I'd really like to get someone soon so we can make a nice, easy transition when I go back to CTV. We are lucky to have a lot of family help out with child care; a nanny will be a nice addition and help give my Mom a rest! I just put the kids on a waiting list for daycare - holy cow - had I known that the waiting list was so long I would have registered five years ago!

Organization is big on my list too, I have a theory - the more organized I am the easier things will be. I'll test that theory soon enough, I hired Shelley (a professional organizer) from Details Modern Order to do our closet - is it ever awesome!

She's coming back next week and we're tackling the garage. Shelley is seeing another friend of mine who just had a baby...I think they're doing her whole house! Surprisingly a professional organizer is very reasonable, they're miracle workers who force you to make decisions about your stuff and give you options to keep your life in order.

The gym is my new home away from home; I have had to make friends with the treadmill again....fun times. Sometimes it's really hard to find the time to get to the torture chamber (gym) but it has to be done, those ketchup potato chips I was craving while pregnant have caught up to me plus my pencil skirt awaits me. Since Dave was away for a month I decided to try getting my meals delivered, I found I wasn't eating until 4 p.m. each day - too busy - and then I'd make poor choices. So now I have breakfast, lunch and dinner plus two snacks. It's actually really tasty and obviously super easy - someone else has cooked it and counted my calories for me. It can be pricy, but I figure it would cost me more to buy a whole new wardrobe! Tonight I had chicken, squash, zucchini, mushrooms and tomatoes while I sat with Dave and my Mom who cooked barbeque ribs, mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts - darn those ribs smelled good!

My list of things to do continues to grow but most important to me right now is Dave, Beckett & Zo, I'm loving every second of my maternity leave. There's a lot of laughs in our house and everyday both Beckett and Zo do something new and exciting, like I said, I could stay home and stare at them all day!
