The BC Lions are welcoming back the CFL's Most Outstanding Canadian, defensive end Ricky Foley.
Foley attended training camp with the NFL's Seattle Seahawks and spent some time with the New York Jets before being released last week.
Lions General Manager and head coach Wally Buono announced Monday evening that Foley had agreed to a contract with the club.
"Ricky brings a very high level of play to the defence and I know our fans will be excited to have him back in black and orange," Buono said.
Foley said he was pleased to return to the team where he started his professional career.
"I couldn't imagine playing anywhere else," he said. "The core of the Lions is still a very strong team, I can't wait to get back on the field and help contribute in any way I can and play in front of the CFL's best fans."
The fourth-year Leo earned his place on the starting line in 2009, scoring the league sacking title with 12 and making 51 defensive tackles.
Even after breaking his thumb in week 15 of the season, Foley managed 15 tackles in the final four games of the regular season.
