SEATTLE - Canadian Ricky Foley was among the cuts announced Monday by the Seattle Seahawks, as the team trimmed its roster to meet the NFL mandated 75-man limit.

The 29-year-old from Courtice, Ont., was among five players waived. Foley was named the CFL's top Canadian last season following a stellar campaign with the B.C. Lions in which he finished tied for the league lead with 12 sacks.

Seattle also waived injured defensive tackle Jonathan Lewis, wide receiver Kole Heckendorf, offensive guard Gregg Peat and kicker Clint Stitser.

Lewis broke his thumb in Saturday's pre-season loss to Minnesota.
