The lawyer for the only man convicted in the Air India bombing won't be facing any charges over how he handled legal bills for the case.
There were allegations that David Martin, who represented Inderjit Singh Reyat, defrauded the government over payments to Reyat's son Didar for translation services and submitted fake accounts.
But special prosecutor Paul Fraser says it's not in the public interest to lay charges, pointing out that Didar Reyat admitted to inflating the accounts and was never paid for the work.
In 2004, Martin was fined $60,000 dollars by the B.C. Law Society for his conduct during the case.
Reyat pleaded guilty in 2003 to manslaughter for his part in the Air India bombing that killed 329 people in 1985.
