Mounties in Burnaby are asking for help to find a missing pregnant refugee and her two-year-old son.
Sifa (Lydia) Mukengere, 28, was last seen with her son Isreal Lwalande on the morning of Dec. 29 at their southeast Burnaby home.
Lydia is five foot five, 110 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She is of African descent and nearly six months pregnant. Her son has brown hair and brown eyes and weighs approximately 35 pounds.
It is not known what either were wearing when they disappeared.
Police are concerned because Lydia has no money or access to money, and has no family or friends in the Lower Mainland.
Both mother and son have recent refugee status and aren't familiar with the area. Police have no reason to suspect there are any suspicious circumstances with their disappearance, but just want to know they are safe.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Burnaby RCMP or their local police department.
