While investigators are still trying to find out what happened to a Port Moody woman who vanished while on a two-day cruise travelling from Bahamas to Florida last month, her boyfriend is now speaking out.

Fariba Amani, 47, was reported missing by her travel partner and boyfriend of 8months, Ramiz Golshani, on Feb. 29 as the cruise ship docked in Palm Beach, Florida. The FBI searched the ship and the U.S. Coast Guard searched the waters along the route for 84 hours, but found no sign of Amani.

Golshani told CTV News he is very distraught over his girlfriend's disappearance and that he can no longer eat or sleep.

"It's hard on me, not to have her beside me. It's hard. Very hard," he said.

Golshani would not respond to earlier statements made by Amani's sister that their relationship was in trouble and that Amani was considering ending it.

"I have nothing to say about this," he said. "I have lost the woman in my life. I have lost the woman I love. How could this be possible?"

Amani's family says they have never met Golshani and that they haven't had any contact with him since their loved one went missing.

"It does strike us as odd that he hasn't tried to get a hold of us. If he wanted to he could have," Amani's sister Saloumeh said on Tuesday.

Golshani told CTV News he initially didn't know how to reach the family.

"I would love to talk to the family. I would love to see them," he said crying.

CTV News spoke to Saloumeh again Saturday. She said because so many days have passed since her sister's disappearance, she is no longer sure how she feels about talking to Golshani.
