A 10-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital after being struck by a car in Abbotsford Monday afternoon.

Few details have been confirmed, but police say the child was hit while crossing the road in the 32300-block of South Fraser Way at around 2:40 p.m.

The extent of her injuries is unknown.

Sgt. Casey Vinet told CTV News the girl was at a marked crosswalk, and the driver stayed at the scene.

Collision analysts have been called to the scene and westbound traffic on South Fraser Way is being diverted between Tretheway Street and Langdon Street until further notice.
