A 42-year-old cyclist is dead after falling into traffic in Vancouver’s west side Monday afternoon.
Police believe the woman was riding on the sidewalk on 12th Avenue near Spruce Street shortly before 2 p.m. when she crashed onto the road and collided with an SUV.
She was taken to hospital with severe injuries but died shortly after.
The 32-year-old SUV driver was left shaken but unhurt, and police say she is cooperating with investigators.
Police are still working to determine what caused the cyclist to fall. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call the Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
