Investigators hauled dental instruments and chairs out of an East Vancouver home Thursday during a raid on another suspected underground dentist’s office.

Alex Penner of the B.C. College of Dental Surgeons said patients were still arriving when members showed up at the residence, located near the intersection of Adenac and Kamloops streets.

The College seized everything needed to run a fully-functional clinic, including computers, he added.

“There were many boxes, there were a couple down chairs, a suction, pretty much equipment for a complete operatory,” Penner said.

The name of the alleged unlicensed dentist hasn’t been released but the College confirmed he is living at the home, which is owned by a Hua Huang.

Penner said he expects to take the case to B.C. Supreme Court in two weeks.

Investigators haven’t found any link between the alleged illegal office and rogue dentist Tung Sheng “David” Wu, who was sentenced in absentia to three months in jail Tuesday for contempt of court.

Wu was found to be running an office out of his Burnaby home, despite a court order to halt practicing unlicensed dentistry that was issued in 2003.

Investigators raided Wu’s office in May and found unsanitized dental supplies, prompting a warning about potential HIV or hepatitis infections.
