A 25-year-old man has now been charged for allegedly opening fire into a crowd of people outside a Maple Ridge pub over the weekend, injuring four people.

Maple Ridge resident Cody William McKenna faces charges of attempted murder, uttering threats, assault with a weapon and firearms-related charges.

The brazen shooting took place at the Haney Public House on Lougheed Highway shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday. Witnesses said a gunman approached the bar, pulled out a gun and shot several bullets at the entrance.

Two doormen were hit in the leg and taken to hospital, while two bystanders were treated for lesser injuries at the scene and released.

A bar employee said the shooter had been involved in an altercation at the pub earlier on and then escorted out.

Anyone with information on the shooting can contact the Ridge Meadows RCMP detachment at 604-467-7685 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
