Mounties say they’ve arrested an alleged voyeur accused of filming a family in the change room of a Coquitlam pool last month.

The family was changing at the Poirier Sports and Leisure Complex the evening of Sept. 9 when they noticed someone apparently trying to record cell phone video of them.

The alleged voyeur was aiming the cell phone through an opening between the change room floor and the bottom of a cubicle divider the family was behind, according to Mounties.

RCMP say the suspect fled after being confronted by staff.

On Thursday, the force released suspect images taken from the facility’s security cameras in the hopes someone would be able to help identify him.

Less than a day later – on Friday morning -- RCMP said a suspect had been arrested and was released on conditions.

Cpl. Jamie Chung thanked the public and media for “their assistance with the swift identification of a suspect,” but said no further details were being released because of a publication ban.

The suspect’s name has not been released and it’s not clear if the person arrested is the man they released surveillance images of.
