BURNABY, B.C. - RCMP have issued a public warning after a woman was attacked on the same Burnaby, B.C., block where a man's body was found three days before.

Police say the woman was walking home around 1:40 a.m. Sunday when a man attacked her from behind and knocked her to the ground (near Smith Avenue and Gilpin Street).

A homicide investigation was launched after Elmer Libertino was found dead in the same area (near Smith Avenue and Moscrop Street) just after 3 a.m. last Thursday.

Staff Sgt. Maj. John Buis says police don't know if Libertino's death is linked to the attack, or if there's any connection to an online geo-tagging game that was being played in the area the night he was discovered.

Buis says they're putting a lot of resources into their investigation.

Mounties are advising people in the area to be vigilant and to travel in pairs if possible, especially if walking late at night.
