The mother of a drug dealer says even 10 years after her son was killed, she still grieves for him every day.

Speaking at a news conference Friday, Laura MacDonald pleaded with anyone listening to come forward with information in the death of Adam Fettes.

Fettes was an addict and dealer, who left Vancouver's Downtown East Side for the Okanagan. He was also known as Mikel Jones.

On Sept. 10, 2006, the 33-year-old was found bludgeoned to death in a West Kelowna basement suite. His car was found in a parking lot about a 30 minute drive from the apartment.

MacDonald brought along a necklace her son used to wear, and teared up as she spoke to reporters.

"I don't get to have my son anymore," she said, sniffling.

"I can't replace him."

She begged for anyone with more information about what happened to Fettes a decade ago to come forward, offering a $10,000 reward as incentive. The reward will go to the person who provides new information that leads to a conviction.

Seated at MacDonald's side, RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said officers are still actively working on the case, but that tips from the public would be welcomed.

"Someone may today be in a better position to offer information now, as opposed to a few years ago or at the time of the homicide," he said.

"Regardless of past decisions or reasons to not come forward with information in the past, investigators are confident that someone may be able to provide crucial information regarding Adam's death. Please do what you can to provide Adam's family with a degree of solace and contact police."

Officers want to speak to anyone who knows what happened, saw Fettes that day or knows who drove his vehicle (a black 2006 Ford 500 with the licence plate 959 GRC) to Bertram Creek Park.

Tipsters are asked to call police at 1-877-987-8477, or to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
