High off of the success of their mega-hit “Thrift Shop,” Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will headline this summer’s Squamish Valley Music Festival alongside Queens of the Stone Age, Vampire Weekend and Band of Horses.

The announcement was made at Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom by Live Nation Canada Friday night, revealing the highly- anticipated artist lineup for the 2013 festival, now in its fourth year.

Vancouver rockers Yukon Blonde and electro-pop maestro Diamond Rings, who will also take part in the multi-day show, performed at Friday’s the release party.

Organizers say the show, running Aug. 8 to 10 at the Hendrickson Fields & Logger Sports Ground, promises a well-rounded showing of local, regional and international talent, expanding on last year’s vision, which included performances by Canadian icons the Tragically Hip, Charles Bradley, Lights, City and Colour and Kathleen Edwards, among others.

Festival director Paul Runnals said 2013 will be the biggest yet, with increased venue capacity as well as expanded camping and shuttle bus programs to get fans to the venue, approximately an hour north of Vancouver.

This year’s roster will also include: Dan Mangan, Gogol Bordello, Divine Fits, Young The Giant, Childish Gambino, Pretty Lights, Fitz and The Tantrums, Jurassic 5 and Said the Whale.

Virgin Mobile customers have the first crack at pre-sale tickets, with a 10 percent discount.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on March 8, with weekend tickets starting at $149. VIP, camping and VIP Glamping passes will be available through www.squamishfestival.com or www.ticketmaster.ca
