A driver has suffered minor injuries after her car smashed through a wall at a recreation centre in Burnaby Tuesday afternoon.

The woman was taken to hospital after her Toyota Camry drove into a laundry room at C.G. Brown Memorial Pool on Kensington Avenue at around 2 p.m.

An aerial view of the incident from CTV's Chopper 9 shows a hole in the wall of the building, with smashed siding boards lying beside the vehicle.

It is unclear why the woman, who is middle-aged according to fire officials, drove into the building.

No one was in the laundry room at the time of the crash, and pool patrons did not witness the incident.

An ambulance and several fire trucks could be seen in the parking lot.
