1. Fatal jet ski accident: Two men were killed after a suspected jet ski accident on the Fraser River in Richmond. The duo was found unresponsive and the Coast Guard found an empty jet ski near No. 4 Road in Richmond.

2. Rain, rain stick around: You may be surprised by that liquid stuff falling from the sky. It’s called rain. After months of little rain and drought conditions, the Lower Mainland is due to be doused in rain throughout the weekend, bringing some relief to plants.

4. Long recovery: An Argentinian ballerina left in a coma after an accident on the North Shore has woken up and started speaking. According to friends, Lucila Munaretto has surprised doctors with her progress but they admit the 20-year-old faces a long road to recovery.

5. IIO responds: The Independent Investigations Office has submitted its report into a brazen shootout in Yaletown last year and determined a police officer may have committed an offence. The June 2014 shootout spanned across downtown Vancouver before ending near Science World.
