Vancouver police are asking the public's help locating a high-risk sex offender wanted Canada-wide for breaching his release conditions.
Police say 30-year-old James Patrick Benson failed to return to the Vancouver halfway house he's been living in since being released from federal prison.
Benson served time for attempted murder, extortion, weapons-related offences and a violent sexual assault.
He is described as Caucasian, 5-8 tall, 200 lbs. with short brown hair and brown eyes. He has prescription glasses and numerous tattoos on his chest, calf, thigh and on both arms.
Anyone who sees Benson is asked not to approach him and call 911 immediately.
