Police are investigating two fatal stabbings, one outside a downtown Vancouver nightclub and another in suburban Richmond.
Vancouver police say 21-year-old Tyson Montgomery Edwards of Burnaby, B.C., was stabbed to death a few metres from the Richards on Richards nightclub early Sunday morning.
Spokesman Const. Tim Fanning says details are sketchy but they are looking for three possible suspects. He said police were looking at video surveillance tape.
"When we have an event like this with a lot of witnesses putting together suspect descriptions can be difficult because people see different things. All we have right now definitively are three suspects, two darker-skinned males and one lighter-skinned male," said Fanning.
Meanwhile, Richmond RCMP have identified 23-year-old Benjamin Neil Warland as the stabbing victim found on the front lawn of a home around 1 a.m. Sunday.
Cpl. Dale Carr with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said the Richmond man died in hospital.
Carr says police have arrested two men believed linked to the incident and are investigating a possible connection to an assault reported in the area an hour before the victim was found.
"At this time we have not been able to link this homicide to any other lower mainland homicide, and currently we do not know whether it has any links to drugs or organized crime," said Carr. "Those questions we expect will be answered in the next couple of days."
