Four more people accused of participating in Vancouver's Stanley Cup riot have now been charged, and a young offender has had another crime added to his charge list.
The 11 new charges bring the total to 197 criminal counts approved by Crown prosecutors against 75 suspected rioters.
The latest people to be charged in connection to the chaos that hit downtown Vancouver on June 15, 2011 include:
- A 17-year-old young offender from Port Coquitlam, previously charged with participating in a riot and break and enter, now charged with mischief under $5,000 as well
- Johnathan Wong, 18, of Richmond, charged with participating in a riot and break and enter
- Anthony Zerr, 18, of Vancouver, charged with participating in a riot and break and enter
- Brian Roberts-McCue, 19, of New Westminster, charged with participating in a riot and two counts of mischief under $5,000
- Michael David Anderson, 21, of Maple Ridge, charged with participating in a riot, mischief over $5,000 and mischief under $5,000
Police have recommended a total of 432 charges against 150 suspects, and say they expect many more charges to come.
