Five more people have been charged with participating in Vancouver's Stanley Cup riot, police announced Thursday.

The 13 new charges approved by Crown prosecutors bring the total number to 153 counts against 57 alleged rioters.

The five additional people accused of contributing to the chaos of June 15, 2011, include:

  • Andrew Glenn Cuthbert, 20, of Maple Ridge, who is charged with participating in a riot, two counts of mischief and arson
  • Christian John Dougherty, 19, of Prince George, who is charged with participating in a riot and mischief
  • Fernando Bernabe, 20, of Burnaby, who is charged with participating in a riot and two counts of mischief
  • Roneil Kumar, 26, of Richmond, who is charged with participating in a riot and mischief
  • Ariel Elizabeth Harrison, 19, of Surrey, who is charged with participating in a riot and mischief

The Integrated Riot Investigation Team has recommended a total of 350 criminal charges against 125 suspected rioters to date.

One man has been convicted for participating in the riot so far; Ryan Dickinson was sentenced earlier in February to 17 months in jail.
