Vancouver police have recommended 82 new criminal charges against 25 more suspects in the June 15 Stanley Cup riot, including a pair of identical twin brothers from Victoria.

The 19-year-olds face "identical charges" of participating in a riot and mischief, police say, for allegedly damaging a police car and joining a group of people tried to flip the cruiser onto its side.

Charges have also been recommended against two people involved in the beating of Good Samaritan Rober Mackay, who tried to stop looters from entering The Bay department store.

A 24-year-old man from Burnaby who allegedly punched Mackay from behind and kicked him on the ground is facing charges of participating in a riot and assault.

A 22-year-old Langley man has been charged for allegedly pepper spraying Mackay as he lay beaten on the ground. The suspect faces charges of participating in a riot, assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Their names will not be made public unless charges are approved.

Vancouver police have recommended a total of 432 charges against 150 suspected rioters. Of those, the Crown has approved 171 charges against 64 suspects.

Eighty-four per cent of the rioters live outside Vancouver, with the biggest group -- 23.3 per cent -- coming from Surrey.

On Friday, a second suspect pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the mayhem in downtown Vancouver. Emmanuel Alviar, a 19-year-old from Surrey, pleaded guilty to participating in a riot. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 3.

Ryan Dickinson, 20, pleaded guilty last month to participating in a riot and was sentenced to 17 months in prison.

Vancouver police continue to direct the public to the Riot2011.vpd.ca website, which features images of yet-unidentified riot suspects, and have put up bus ads at 10 locations in the city advertising the site.

Police have said as many as 700 people could face charges, and that the investigation could take up to two years to complete.

Anyone with information on the riot is asked to call 604-717-9999 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
