Marijuana advocate and self-proclaimed "Prince of Pot" Marc Emery says he's pleading guilty to U.S. drug charges.

Emery said he will cease fighting his U.S. extradition order and accept a single count of distributing drugs next month in a Seattle courtroom - in order to serve some of his sentence in Canada.

"[Prosecutors] will be seeking five to eight years in a U.S. federal penitentiary," Emery said Thursday.

"We will be asking for less than that; zero to five years. And they won't oppose a transfer to Canada, and there will be no financial penalties."

Emery says he'll spend his jail term writing a book and learning French and Spanish.
