Calgary quarterback Henry Burris is the CFL's offensive player of the week after helping improve the Stampeders' league-best record to 9-1.

Burris completed 29 of 35 passes for 404 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in his team's 36-20 win over Edmonton at Commonwealth Stadium. Burris was also a threat on the ground, running the ball three times for 28 yards and two touchdowns.

Winnipeg running back Fred Reid was the runner-up.

The defensive honour went to Toronto defensive end Ronald Flemons, who recorded seven tackles, including a career-high three sacks for a team loss of 27 yards, one pass knockdown and one fumble recovery, in a 37-16 loss to the BC Lions.

Stamps linebacker Juwan Simpson was also considered for the honour.

Lions kick returner Andrew Harris earned the special teams award after opening the second half with a 72-yard kickoff return in BC's win over Toronto. The Winnipeg native recorded 162 total return yards, including three kickoffs for 119 yards and four punts for 43 yards. Harris was also a runner-up for the top Canadian honour.

Toronto's Chad Owens and Montreal's Damon Duval were the runners-up for the special teams award.

Lions running back Jerome Messam is the top Canadian player of the week. The Toronto native ran for 24 yards on eight carries and scored the first two TDs of his CFL career. Messam also recorded two receptions, the first catches of his career, for a total of 34 yards.

Toronto running back Andre Durie was the other runner-up.
