Summer has finally arrived in B.C. and several communities around the province have the shattered temperature records to prove it.

Records, including one set in 1929, toppled yesterday as the province bakes in its first heat wave of the season.

Kitimat, Squamish, Pemberton, Victoria and the Fraser Valley were among the regions posting new highs yesterday.

The 30.7 degrees recorded in White Rock yesterday smashed the 28 degree high set in 1928 -- and the heat continues with Kamloops bracing for 35 degrees today and cities such as Prince George and Revelstoke expected to reach the low 30s.
