The City of Vancouver will shut down a busy traffic corridor in downtown Vancouver Monday afternoon to accommodate the tens of thousands of fans who want to watch Game 3 of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Starting at 2 p.m., the section of Georgia Street between Hamilton and Richards will be closed.
The city says the existing Granville Street fan zone is too small – so it's being moved over to Georgia Street, which has six lanes.
An estimated 70,000 people came into the downtown core on Saturday night to watch the Vancouver Canucks face off against the Boston Bruins.
The Vancouver police estimate that number will grow as the playoffs continue.
Const. Lindsay Houghton said there will be the largest police presence of the year in Vancouver for tonight's away game in Boston.
"It's about making sure it's a celebratory atmosphere," Houghton told CTV News.

B.C. Premier Christy Clark will light the Olympic cauldron on Monday afternoon at the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre, where the game will be shown on a giant outdoor screen.
It's just one of dozens of spots around B.C. where fans and families can watch the game for free in an open-air setting.
