The Hazardous Materials Team was called out to a suspected drug lab in the Vancouver suburb of Surrey on Monday evening, but found only harmless fertilizers.

Police were executing a raid at an alleged marijuana grow operation in a home near 140th Street and 89th Avenue.

In their search, officers noticed fumes and found a container of what appeared to be chemicals.

"When the members went into the kitchen area, they located some containers in there, and looked in one of the cupboards and they were slightly overcome by the fumes," said Chief Dave Rivett with the Surrey Fire Department.

After the Hazmat team was called in to investigate, they found the container held fertilizers and pesticides and did not pose any threat.
