The senior Enbridge executive in charge of the Northern Gateway project says her company is listening to critics and is determined to build the safest pipeline in company history.
Janet Holder says the project has been in planning for a decade and that Enbridge is making ongoing changes in response to concerns.
Holder made the comments to reporters in Edmonton, where she is sitting in on the federal review hearings into the project.
The $6-billion line would carry Alberta crude oil across B.C. to a coastal port for shipment by tanker to markets in Asia.
