A 27-year-old man and 36-year-old woman have been charged after an elderly woman's leg was broken in a purse-snatching in North Vancouver.

Justin Peltier of West Vancouver and Tammy Condo of no fixed address, both previously known to police, were arrested by North Vancouver RCMP on July 20.

A 74-year-old woman was attacked at a bus stop at around 11 p.m. near the corner of Marine Drive and Capilano Road on July 17. Her purse was stolen by a man after a woman hit her in the face twice. The elderly woman fell to the ground and has had to undergo surgery for a broken leg.

Peltier and Condo are also suspected in two attempted robberies near Marine Drive and Pemberton Street at around 10 p.m. on July 19. In the first incident a woman was punched in the face by another woman while a man tried to steal her purse.

Soon after in an area nearby, a woman was struck on the head by another woman and a man attempted to steal her purse. The blow caused a large cut on the victim's head that required stitches.

Peltier has been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of assault. Condo has been charged with two counts of robbery and one count of aggravated assault.
