A Coquitlam resident had a lucky escape on Friday night when a stray bullet pierced the window of his Farrow Street home and lodged in a wall.

Coquitlam RCMP say the incident occurred after two groups of males got into an argument near the McDonalds restaurant parking lot on Clarke Road. One of the males retrieved a handgun from a vehicle and fired up to 12 shots at the other group of males

No one was hit and the shooter left the scene with two other males in a dark SUV.

Police say the Farrow St. resident called to complain that a stray bullet came through his window and lodged in his inside wall. No injuries have been reported.

RCMP Cpl. Peter Thiessen said an investigation is ongoing. But police have not picked up any suspects and it is not clear whether or not the incident is gang related, Thiessen said.
