Police have identified the woman whose body was found in some bushes in Surrey, B.C, last week as 41-year-old Teri-Lyn Williams.
Williams's body was discovered by a passerby in the 13600-block of 104A Avenue in the early morning hours of June 9.
On Friday, the RCMP's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said they believed she had been murdered.
According to police, Williams was known to them as a sex trade worker who travelled back and forth between Alberta and B.C. She vacated her home in Calgary in mid-April, and investigators are now trying to track her movements up until the discovery of her body last week.
Members of IHIT are now canvassing the Surrey Central area to find witnesses who may have seen Williams before her death.
Also known as Toni Williams, the victim was a 5-2 tall, mixed race woman with shoulder-length hair that she wore in cornrows.
A black fake fur jacket with a rose pattern was found near her body.
