Good news for travellers who use BC Ferries -- the corporation is eliminating fuel surcharges on all its routes.
Effective this Friday, the two per cent surcharge will be dropped from the major routes between the mainland and Vancouver Island, as well as the route to the Sunshine Coast.
BC Ferries' President Mike Corrigan says the falling cost of fuel is allowing the company to cancel the extra charges.
BC Ferries imposed fuel surcharges in 2008 then rolled them back before reviving them last year when fuel prices went up.
