The RCMP is issuing a public warning after an alleged child luring attempt in North Vancouver on Oct. 13.

Police say a 13-year-boy was approached in the Lynn Valley area by a man driving a red Toyota SUV around 3 p.m. The man allegedly stopped alongside the boy, opened the passenger side of the door, and offered to drive him home.

The boy declined the offer, and was not harmed in the incident.

Police are asking the public for assistance identifying the male suspect. He is described as white, around 30 years old, with curly dark hair and a dark beard.

The vehicle is described as a red Toyota SUV with a black leather interior. The center console had lollipops in the cup holder, and the first number of the license plate is a 9.
