A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a suspect in last week’s double-homicide in Chilliwack, B.C.

Aaron James David Douglas, 33, is wanted in connection with the shooting that killed Richard Blackmon and Tyler Belcourt in a low-rise apartment building on Gove Avenue early Thursday morning.

An unnamed woman was also shot, but survived.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said Douglas has a criminal record dating back to 1996 and is believed to be armed and dangerous.

“IHIT is asking the public to be vigilant and call 911 if you know the whereabouts of Aaron Douglas. Do not approach him or attempt to apprehend him yourself,” Staff Sgt. Jennifer Pound said in a statement.

Witnesses reported hearing multiple shots fired around 4 a.m. Thursday. As many as five people were seeing fleeing in a Mazda hatchback after the murders.

Blackmon was 38, Belcourt was 36.

Anyone with information on the homicides can contact the IHIT tip line at 1-877-551-4448, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if they wish to remain anonymous.
