The certified guide dog who went missing from his Vancouver home around 10 p.m. Tuesday night has been found.
Garcia, an 8-year-old yellow lab who lives near Nanaimo Street and East 41st Avenue, got away through an open gate.
His owner Patrick York is visually impaired. He said he wasn’t sure how the dog escaped.
York contacted local media to try to find the dog, and started a Twitter hashtag “#FindGarcia” in hopes of getting his helper back. On Wednesday afternoon, his campaign was successful.
