The second largest Victoria’s Secret store in the world opened Tuesday in Vancouver to long lines and a lot of pink.

Excited shoppers started lining up at 5 a.m. for the brand’s first store in B.C., expressing relief they don’t need to make the trek south of the border anymore.

Samantha Bowman, used to take road trips to Washington State to shop at the store, so she was excited when she heard a flagship store would be opening in Vancouver.

“I was really happy that it was finally coming downtown – and I get to visit often,” said Bowman, who arrived at 7 a.m. to beat the worst of the line for the 10 a.m. grand opening.

Another crowd can be expected Thursday when Victoria’s Secret model, or “angel,” Lindsay Ellingson will be taking photos with fans at the store.

The two-storey store at the corner of Burrard and Robson streets boasts more than 35,000 square feet of lingerie, swim, sport and lounge wear.

Some of the first shoppers were disappointed with the prices and lack of day-one promotions, but others came out with new clothes they felt were worth the money – and the wait.
