The sale of a laptop has led to child pornography charges against a 52-year-old B.C. man.

Police said the purchaser saw an advertisement for the laptop online and bought it, only to discover disturbing images on the hard drive.

The buyer contacted the Abbotsford Police Department, which identified local resident Jonathan Grunwald as the former owner.

Grunwald has since been charged with sexual assault of a person under 16 years old, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, making child pornography and possession of child pornography.

The accused was arrested and released from custody on a number of conditions.

One child victim has been identified so far and is being provided with support. Police said their investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Abbotsford police at 604-859-5225, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to remain anonymous.
