The mother of a teenage girl who died earlier this month says she is disturbed by new details emerging about the circumstances of her daughter's death.

Mounties say Connie Hernandez's 17-year-old daughter Martha Jackson Hernandez, and her 16-year-old friend Kayla LaLonde, were killed by a lethal mix of drugs and alcohol.

LaLonde died in Burnaby, B.C., in the early morning hours of March 2 after collapsing on the street. A few hours later, Jackson Hernandez went into medical distress and died at a home in Richmond.

Hernandez said the home has a reputation, and that she has been told her daughter went there "frequently to drink alcohol."

"Our daughter died. Her last breath was taken in this man's house," she said. "Why would he have these young girls in his house? Any normal person in their right state of mind would not allow that."

In a disturbing twist, CTV News learned that the home where Jackson Hernandez was found is rented to a man with the same name as a convicted sexual predator: Martin Tremblay.

In 2003, a Martin Tremblay was convicted of inviting young girls to his Burnaby home, plying them with alcohol, drugging and sexually assaulting them.

But Richmond RCMP have not confirmed whether the same Martin Tremblay is living in Richmond, or issued a public warning connected to their investigation.

"If a warning is needed, we will send one out," Cpl. Jennifer Pound said. "We don't think it's necessary at this point."

In the mean time, Hernandez says she wants other teenage girls to be careful.

"I hope no other parent will have to live with what we're living through," she said.
