A 49-year-old man from Gibsons, B.C. has been named the winner of the 79th PNE Prize Home lottery.

Dean Cockerill is receiving the grand prize package, which includes a fully furnished, 3,000-square-foot home with three bedrooms and four bathrooms, with interior design by former Bachelorette star Jillian Harris.

He’ll also get a $2,500 grocery package from MarketPlace IGA, a year’s worth of housecleaning services and a one-year subscription to The Province newspaper.

The combined value of the package: $1,266,698.

Cockerill’s name was drawn Thursday night from Hastings Park, but PNE officials were unable to reach him at the phone number he provided to give him the news.

His new home will be transferred from the PNE fair grounds to Sun Peaks.

The runner-up prizes, including 12 vehicles and five all-inclusive vacations, were drawn earlier in the day, as was the 50/50 draw for $48,305.

The remaining winners’ names have not been released.
