A fight between two coworkers in a Surrey basement suite has led to that city’s second homicide in less than 72 hours.

A 39-year-old man suffering serious stab wounds was found in the home on 132nd Street late Wednesday night.

He was rushed to Royal Columbian Hospital but died from his injuries.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the probe.

Sgt. Adam MacIntosh said this was a fight between two friends who work together.

Neither has a history with police and investigators are trying to determine what caused the violence.

“They came to the residence together. They knew each other. Somehow a fight broke out. Why that is, that’s what we’re trying to find out,” MacIntosh told CTV Morning Live.

A 29-year-old man who lives in the home was arrested at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.

Meanwhile, a manhunt is growing to find 33-year-old Barry McQuarrie, who is wanted in connection with Monday night’s fatal shooting in Cloverdale.

Gregory Quesnelle, 32, was shot to death in what’s believed to be a targeted attack.
