Friends and family of a murdered B.C. teenager will gather Thursday night at a Mission park to honour the young mother.

A candlelight vigil for Rachel Pernosky will be held at 7 p.m. at Fraser River Heritage Park.

The young woman’s body was found Tuesday at the bottom of a steep embankment in Chilliwack.

The discovery came four days after the teen, the mother of a one-year-old boy, was last seen at her Mission home.

Homicide investigators believe her slaying is targeted and have identified several persons of interest in the case.

No suspects are in custody and there does not appear to be a clear motive in the case.

The teen was an avid user of social media, but her purse and cell phone were found at her home. Pernosky's social media activity will be looked at as part of the investigation.

Family members told CTV News that although Pernosky did not have custody of her child, she had a good relationship with the father, and was supposed to see her toddler the day after her disappearance. Her child's father is not suspected in her death.
