Two firefighters were injured battling a blaze that broke out at a Langley manufacturing facility Thursday morning.

Eight fire engines and 52 firefighters were dispatched to the three-alarm fire, which started around 11:30 a.m. at CFK Inc., a Canadian-owned company that makes moulded pulp products such as disposable plates.

Crews were able to douse the flames with some help from a sprinkler system in the building.

The injured firefighters were both taken to Langley Memorial Hospital, one with a hurt shoulder and another with a knee injury. One was released shortly after and returned to the station while the other remained in hospital Thursday evening to get X-rays.

The cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
